Ladbrokes is one of the best-known names in Ireland and the UK, and they have a pretty diverse client-base worldwide. This is a casino I have been meaning to get around for a long time, but have only had the chance and time to check it out now. Considered one of the big names in the industry, I was curious to see whether Ladbrokes would live up to their title, and, if they could woo an experienced casino player like myself. Join me, and together we can check out what this casino has to offer for Irish players.
Ladbrokes had long been a name on the high street before finally going online in 2000. This makes them one of the longest-running online casinos on the market, as well as one of the biggest names in sports betting. With a devoted and dedicated membership, it’s clear Ladbrokes must be doing something right. They are fully licensed by the Licensing Authority of Gibraltar, under the 2005 Gaming Act. This is a certified and authorised casino with a great reputation, so far, so good.
With nearly 300 games to choose from (according to their website), Ladbrokes doesn’t have the largest selection online, but they do have one of the most appealing. Firstly, I love the sections they’ve decided to divide their games into Top Games, New Games, Slots, Movies & TV, Jackpots, Table & Cards, Video Poker, Casual Games. Movies & TV! That’s amazing, especially for a film buff like me who will often select games based on their link to a film I love. This allows me access to cool games like Gladiator, Man Of Steel, and Rocky.
The games Ladbrokes offers are so excellent that they don’t need a huge selection. And it’s not just slots on offer, there are some excellent table games to pick as well. Then there is a brilliant Live Casino, and a selection of casual games too. I think a selection like this is more than enough to satisfy most players, especially with the sportsbook, bingo, Poker, and lotto options as well! There is plenty here to be impressed about, and Ladbrokes has so much scope for players of all abilities.
Ladbrokes prides itself on being the pinnacle of modern, online gaming. And, it’s for this reason that they have coupled with some of the leading names in the industry. Their games are designed from leading software providers using cutting edge technology. Playtech is their principal provider, and they’re a leading name, so that fills me with confidence and reassurance. They also count NetEnt, Evolution Gaming, and IGT among their games suppliers.
Winnings & Payouts
You can win big at this casino, and people regularly do. I headed straight for the Jackpot Games to see what sort of things they had to offer. Funky Fruits offers a jackpot of over €1 million, while Monty Python’s Spamalot! Has close to €1.5 million available. I actually had a go on the Green Lantern jackpot slot, and, while I didn’t scoop the jackpot, I had a couple of modest wins, and was impressed enough that I will return. Having a fair chance of winning is an important consideration, and Ladbrokes also help ensure this with an audited Random Number Generator.
In terms of payouts, there is plenty to love at Ladbrokes. They have some excellent payment methods, including Visa debit, Sofort, Trustly, and Giropay. And, when it comes to withdrawing money, I didn’t have any problems at all. In fact, using Neteller, this was one of the fastest casinos to pay out, with me receiving my money in around 6 hours. There are no fees or hidden charges, and the whole process is smooth, efficient and enjoyable.
Ladbrokes Customer Service
So, now we come to the other big one, customer service. I can be difficult to please, especially when it comes to customer support offered by casinos. Now, Ladbrokes has an excellent help centre, which looks fantastic as well. It’s laid out wonderfully, so you know exactly where you need to go to get the help you want. They have a few contact numbers, and an email support as well. The Live Chat function is useful but only available to those who are logged in, which is a little annoying if you’re looking to try it out before signing up. I also noted that the staff on Live Chat can be a little snippy, and sometimes take a while to respond.
Any casino worth its salt these days is going to have an ace mobile casino. Mobile gaming has increased and exploded in the past decade, and casinos are wise to this. I love the convenience of not having to be on my computer if I want to enjoy my favourite casino games. Ladbrokes has an excellent mobile casino, with state-of-the-art graphics, and wonderful technology. There is also a free and simple-to-use app as well – what’s not to love?
When you first head to Ladbrokes’ site, you will have the option of visiting the casino, the sportsbook, or other areas. Head to the casino website and homepage and you’ll notice there is a lot happening here. There’s an explosion of colour and graphics, and there are a lot of things battling for my attention. I like the right amount of colour and info, mixed with some blank space, so I don’t have too much to deal with at once. Don’t get me wrong, the homepage, and the red colour scheme at the top looks smart enough. But I do feel like this website could be cut back a little at first glance.
Having said that, it is incredibly user-friendly, and I had no problems navigating it. The tabs above and below the red banner make it simple to find where I want to visit on the site and to find out more information about something. But it feels like the bonus graphic below is a little too large, and the tiles displaying the games are also a little large as well. But, I do like the fact that there is a search bar above the games allowing me to look for a particular title.
Ladbrokes was so close to getting a stellar rating, but their website has a little too much going on for my liking. There is also the slight drawback with the Live Chat, which is a shame because I can’t find anything else wrong with this otherwise fabulous casino.
