Did you know that betting on sports is the most popular form of gambling in Ireland? It shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise, seeing as us Irish love our horse racing, football, boxing, and our Irish sports. As we’re such fans of sports betting in Ireland, there are plenty of land-based and online bookies who are all vying for our attention. However, which ones are the best? I’ve put together a list of who I personally think are the best for sports betting in Ireland – so have a read through and let me know what you think.
As much as it pains me to say it, because it seems so cliche, Paddy Power are actually one of the biggest bookies in Ireland. They were set up in Ireland, their theme is very Irish, they’re just all about the Emerald Isle. However, it’s worth noting that you can get better sign-up offers from other bookmakers, if you don’t just rely on the name. So, while I am going to add Paddy Power to the list (and while you probably already have a PP account), it’s only really on here thanks to its Irish roots.
If you live anywhere near me, then you’ll know I am always in William Hill round my way. However, when it’s too cold to leave the house or when I just can’t be bothered to get dressed, I do all my sports betting on William Hill online. I find that their sign up bonuses are pretty decent and I’m always being emailed about special promotions (perhaps because I spend so much money with them). While they may not be as ‘Woo Ireland’ as Paddy Power, they are one of the best in the world so you have to give them that. I find their odds are also some of the best out there.
I had been playing on Mr. Green for ages before I realised they actually had their own sports betting section. As you have probably guessed from my 5* review of them and the fact I mention them in nearly every round up, I have a real thing for this online casino. So, when I found out they did sports betting as well, I was a pretty happy guy. I find that their sportsbook isn’t as easy to use as some of the others, but they do have amazing bonuses and promotions so it’s worth signing up and checking them out. Plus, you can kill time in their epic casino while waiting for the scores to come in.
Putting the LAD in sports betting… I can’t believe I actually said that. This red and white logo is a staple in most high streets, and their online offering is almost as popular as their brick and mortar betting shops. The only letdown for me is their sign-up bonuses, which I find can be lacking – along with their ongoing promotions. However, they have plenty of other features and some decent odds which keep me coming back for more.
Sports betting in Ireland is a big hobby for most of us, so it’s important we find the online bookies that we like the most. The next time you don’t fancy heading out to a brick and mortar bookmakers, sign up with one of these guys and make the most out of their online offers and promotions. Let me know how you get on – and if I’ve missed any off the list!
